Depends on who you ask I guess.I was told at the workhorse booth at Tampa show late spring or early summer. I also read post where someone was told mid summer.
One thing is certain, you can`t believe much of what workhorse tells you on this issue. This fix has been " coming soon" for an awful long time.

DancinCampers, Lichtsinn Motors is an Authorized Workhorse Service Center. I would call the service department now and see if they have a waiting list for the caliper recall for the GNR. I know that Brazel's has a sign-up list so perhaps this is something that the service centers want to do to help customers. Here is a listing of the service centers in those areas limited to the top 3 (closest).

In the vicinity of Forest City, IA.

Lichtsinn Motors Inc.

Johnnie, I had not heard that but I don't hear everything. The best information that I have is late spring to early summer so make that May to July. I hope we get moving on this soon!

Has anyone considered taking this to court as a class action lawsuit to get this thing off dead center?

I'm not sure how that helps anyone. It would seem that we are quite possibly between 90 to 120 days out (or close to it), the problem has been determined by NHTSA, the caliper manufacturer (Bosch) is tooling up and Workhorse is waiting for a quantity of calipers to begin accomplishing the recall. There is an Interim Notice & Repair Procedure, and everything that is known about the issue I believe is posted here in the stickies.

When people are waiting for something, whatever that is, it can't happen soon enough. I'm on the side of owners that want this thing to happen tomorrow!

OK I'm not ready but go ahead anyway ....

Or until someone gets KILLED, which ever comes first. I guess that’s what it’s going to take.

You're absolutely right and it's very frustrating for anyone that is involved with this recall. As remote as that event might be it could happen. Surely though in the 10 years that these calipers have been on our vehicles someone would have reported an injury to NHTSA due to the defective calipers. I've not seen it and I'm not looking forward to it either.

abarkl, I'm driving one of these machines too and although I am aware and guarded there still remains an unknown factor that no one can foresee. Ruling out the root cause of everyone's concern should I would expect leave a lot people with less stress in their lives.

No time line! Just keep on trucking and eventually we will get the brakes fixed. And don't worry in the meantime as the notice states; boiling brake fluid which may result in loss of brake function (no brakes??), smoke coming from the wheel, a small wheel fire (neither Workhorse nor NHTSA is aware of any fires spreading beyond the brake assembly) I've shown the notice to mechanic friends who can't believe people, including myself, are still driving these things. Workhorse/Bosch must feel they are doing us a favor by offering to fix marginal (at best, due to the fact the tolerances won't allow some of the MH's to be idle) brakes and therefore do not feel obliged to help by giving us their timeline to resolve this mess. I changed all the parts last fall, after two lock-ups, when there was mention that the fix would be forthcoming and soon, but now know any concern for doing my fix and having Workhorse follow in short order with their fix was not founded. Hope they give us a date we can plan around and soon.

Sorry DriVer, this has been going on for almost two years. Last Sept. a Interational/Workhorse dealer told me that they were expecting a solution last fall, then it was after the start of the year, now it is summer! Follow the money folks! I would bet that the lawyers are making a ton keeping this going. It is starting to make Toyota look like the good guys. I would just like to know how early is was that they knew they had a problem, and who made the decisioin to hold back on solving it. Why didn't Workhorse have Bosch in court from the getgo? The whole thing smells!

Kayo, So it would be your intention to scrap everything that's on the books as of right now, and go to court. Ok, So it's taking time to resolve this issue and nobody is disputing that. I know one thing, if you put this case in court we might get our calipers changed sometime in 2023. If it's your position that the lawyers are extending this recall just to make money then it's not at all difficult for me to theorize, "What's to stop them from continuing this case out to perpetuity?" Bosch being a $500B company has a few lawyers on staff and I would expect that they would make a living one way or another. Faced with starting over from square one, now we're really in trouble.

But loose they will and ultimately they will change them because the NHTSA investigation said they were defective and they must be remedied. You can make a call to follow the money ... personally I would rather keep my eye on the solution and eventual outcome that is forthcoming within a few weeks time.

I'm tired of looking back and so are many other folks. I think that we all want to move this issue forward to a speedy conclusion and definitely "off center."

PS Marine, Semper Fi and Thank you for your service!
