I am posting this to the chassis forum as I believe the main effect will be on the behavior of the chassis. It is going to be necessary for me to travel with a mobility scooter. Does anyone have experience with a carrier that fits into the receiver hitch. This will add about 300 to 350 pounds to the very rear of the coach. I am worried about what that might do to the handling of the coach especially in a crosswind. Any input will be greatly appreciated.

You should be able to do 500 pounds of tongue weight and I don't think the combined weight including the Vue will add up to 5,000 pounds so you should be good to go!

A 36 foot motorhome including the mobility and the car shouldn't exceed your 26,000 combined weight rating.

If the motorhome displays any tendency to fishtail consider a rear track bar if it comes to that.

I agree. I tow a 28 foot sailboat with my P32. I have a very small class A at 26' but if anything it handles better with the boats weight on the back. I did put a panhard rod on it out of paranoia but I doubt it needed it.

I'm going to try and figure out how to get a carrier on the back to haul a 250cc scooter and tow the boat...the tongue weight is just not an issue.

Back before I did the suspension mods on my Damon Intruder (377W, workhorse chassis) I did make a trip with about 200 pounds on a hitch mounted carrier.

I did not even know it was there (Well, I mean, I knew, but you could not tell from the driver's seat) no problems at all.
