We haven't had a chance to use our coach much the last few years, 2005 Pace Arrow with only 12,000 miles!

Which of course caused our brake failure last outing 300 miles from home and was forced to leave it with dealer damage was so great. When we went to get it a month later more break failure 40 minutes from dealer. Now we head back up to get it once again.

Question is, while in shop I want a couple of things done. It's been 1 year since I changed the oil (750 miles!) so that will be done.

Question is if I switch to synthetic can I go longer since I'm not putting the miles on it?

Also, It's been about 4 years since the tranny oil was changed. Recommendations?

They are giving me for free the engine cooling vent system and new plugs and wires. The brake issue caused overworked the engine so they were damaged by the excess heat. Trying to get them to pay for 2 burned out grease seals to.

Any other advise for a little used coach would be appreciated.

MT, That's really too bad. A motorhome is a machine that needs to be run in order for the systems to remain viable. I would rather wear some thing out than have sit there and wear out.

I do hope that the brake fluid was replaced on your motorhome if it was recently serviced for a brake problem.

I run synthetic motor oil however I change it twice a year whether it needs it or not. I buy a good grade of synthetic from Mobil or others.

See if you can replace the fluid that you have for Transynd. You may have to go to an Allison dealer to get it done. In April 2005 the chassis came with Transynd so if you have a late 05 you may already have Transynd.

keep an eye on your tires too! Check for cracking. If the vehicle has not been moved for a long time the tires may have been damaged from just sitting.
