Reduced engine power

1999 Winnebago vecrta gas, 454 Chevy engine, won't go over 2000 RPM's light on dash says "REDUCED ENGINE POWER" Any advice is appreciated.

Not that I'm aware of, only light on dash indicating Reduced Engine Power, where would I look to find a code?
Thank you for your response

You need a code reader to hook up to a port, usually under the dash somewhere. Lot's of auto parts stores now days will come outside with a reader, and show you the codes for free, hoping you will buy the part from them . Just make sure they show you ! Call your local parts store and see if they will help you. It's probably a sensor somewhere, but you won't know where to start until you get the "code" ... My 04 jeep will show codes by flipping the ignition switch in a specific manor, but alot of vehicles will not.

It uses a standard automive ODBII code reader.
The diagnostic connector will be strapped to the steering column up under the dash, probably hard to see and harder to reach, but it will be there.

What 2004 jeep will flash codes?
My 2000 wrangler sure won't.
The flashing check engine light went out an 1996.

Hi Jim, just looked and it does say 2002 and newer. Ours is a V8 Grand Cherokee. Here's the link just in case it can help you.
