I have been procrastinating getting this done due to several posts on this forum who have said they needed to get the UP reprogrammed afterwards. Now I think I want to have the trans. ecm reflashed to hopefully fix the double downshifts that seems to often occur when in CC.

Mike B., since the UP was last updated at QZite in Jan, would the Allison reflash wipe that out? I was assuming the latest GM calibrations were included in the Jan update. How does this all go together?

Marty

Marty,

We build our program off of the latest GM update. So when you go in there they should not be able to update it again since it's already there.

If in fact your W-22 chassis is a 2003, you already have the new software in your TCM. Most likely you have a 2003 motorhome built on a 2002 chassis as I have. The Allison Service Bulletin says the 2001 chassis do not need the PCM reprogrammed after the TCM is done. However the 2002 chassis do need the PCM reprogrammed after the TCM is done. If they have the equipment, they will most likely go ahead and reprogram the PCM after the TCM. This will wipe out the UP. I would assume Mike's program already has the PCM update and all you will need is the TCM done, if you can get them to only do the TCM.
