The Dicor Versaliners on my 19.5" wheels came with a tool for that, a lightweight socket on a stick. A deep well 1-1/8" socket fits them. The ones to remove are marked with a dimple, two per cover.

There would have originally been a tool provided by Dicor;( whom I believe would be the supplier of your simulators) that often didn't last through the first removal; luckily the front wheel retainers can often be removed with a crescent wrench . The rear on a dual wheel set up require some creative thinking .
I don't believe your's will be as large as mine are , I'm still looking for a thin wall socket this size.
EDIT: I see another member has posted while I was typing... boy I type slow.

As per Mark B . the two nut covers with this mark slide off to expose the retainer.

Mine are something like 1 1/2 or 1 5/8 inch, I think the 1 1/8 are used on the 16 " rims.

What size socket do you use? Mine seem to be 1 1/2" but online they seem to be 1 5/8" I have to order the socket online due to where I live and don't want to order the wrong one. Or do you use a 41mm socket?

I checked the socket I use, it's a 12 point socket and measures inside straight across 1.780" or 45mm. Checked the chrome simulators and corner to corner was a little smaller, at 1.777 and 45.03.
My socket doesn't have any marking on it since I cut off the top off and welded it on an extension to fit the rear wheels..
This is on a 2004 Southwind.. Hope this helps. Jack

I doubt you have the same retainer shown in my picture ( 41mm) as my F/L has 22.5" wheels , as of now I have yet to find a 41mm thin wall socket ( that's required for the rear). still removing with a crescent wrench , the rears are a { self edit}!
I can't find my metric conversion table
I'll be back .

Found mine . 41mm= 1.614" lovely now to convert to 1/8's, I'm too old for this .
Might be easier to take my other caliper out to the coach .
1 5/8" sounds familiar but at my age I don't trust memory .
Well , I'm back from the garage , 1 5/8" is the size.
Anyone got a line on a thin wall socket ,3/8 drive would be nice , most 1 5/8 you find will be 3/4" drive and way too thick to fit the rear.

I went through this with my 04 W20 with 19.5 wheels. It is a 1 9/16 socket. $25 at NAPA for a 6 point 3/4 drive socket. You will need a 3/4 to 1/2 converter. I even went with a 1/2 to 3/8 converter so I could use my 3/8 drive ratchet.
A 1 1/2 is too small and a 1 5/8 is too big. I tried them.

Does that socket clear the rear center dome ,to remove the retainers, without scratching ?

Should be plenty of room. I use a long extension to get the ratchet out past the dually center cap/dome.

Skip, do you still have the original T handle tool that came with your rig? I always read posts with people saying they're cheap and easily broken but Ive never had a problem with mine. All I can think of is that people are tightening the simulator nuts down more than they need to be. They're not holding the wheel and tire on so they certainly don't have to be tightened anywhere near what a lug nut needs to be tightened to. The tool works fine if a person realizes this.
Saying this because I've used the tool a lot over the years. No TPMS, no valve extensions so I have to remove the rear simulators every time I check air pressure. The tool makes it easy!
