I am going to add some extra turn signal lights to the mirror housings. I need to know how to remove the glass so I can run some wires. Can anyone tell me how to remove the glass?

Lee,

I am thinking that you have Velvac mirrors like most coaches. If so, this is something I have been thinking about since another model of my mirrors comes with extra turn signals below on the post.

There is a removable cover that goes over the mounting hole BUT I am not sure if it has the threaded mounts installed. I would contact Velvac to be sure you can add these after the fact.

Look under the "Contact Us" button for numbers and email addresses and let us know what you find out.

There's a black plastic clip at the top of the glass. You have to pop the clip up and off and the glass part slides out. I ordered the glass part from velvac because the heating element quit on mine, they include a new plastic clip because they say you may not be able to reuse it because it's easy to break or deform it. However, I was able to reuse mine.
I don't need to get mine off now but since I reinstalled mine, the allen bolt (3/16 wrench) is totaly frozen in. I broke 3 allen wrenches trying to loosen it. Be careful with it , but if you can get your loose, it might be a good idea to put some antiseize on it.
