When a shop replaces the defective calipers on a W-22 chassis (mine), what make & model calipers are supposed to be used? Specifically, are they an upgraded Bosch unit or some other brand?

Depending on when your MH was delivered to Winnebago, there were some early 2003 units with Bosch ZOPS brakes. Those brakes were subject to the recall. My motorhome has the later Bosch ZOHT brakes and knock on wood - no trouble so far.
I have seen a set of replacement calipers at my WCC service center and the box was clearly marked, Bosch. The calipers that I saw appeared to be brand new and they weigh a ton.
I believe that all the brake calipers are the new ZOHT type and that the ZOPS units were pulled off the market by the recall.

Thanks, Mike. The date of mfr by WH was 11/02 for my chassis. How can I be assured they were not ZOPS brakes? Are there SN's (or lot #'s) on the calipers that designate the ZOPS grouping? Who can provide me with this info? I have a feeling that WH (877-946-7731) will not provide that data.

Thanks to all. It's interesting to note that there is no set maintenance interval for lubing the slide-pins.

Mine also has ZOHT brakes and I've had to R&R all four calipers. Hope you do not (keep on knockin').

28586 last week when rear calipers were replaced. Perhaps more use is more better.

The brakes in use on commercial vehicles as far as I know do not appear to be exhibiting the problems that we often read about here concerning brakes on RVs.
Workhorse builds commercial model chassis for several large commercial interests which use Bosch calipers. Participating in informal discussions this past week would suggest that that side of the equation does not appear to present nearly as much concern from those interests as the RV side does from the members here on the board.
The typical profile for a commercial vehicle would be that is is run 8 to 10 hours a day (or more) 6 days a week perhaps and the fact that the vehicle never stays still for more than a couple of days may contribute to overall performance of those vehicles.
Unfortunately we are not privileged to have first hand accounts from commercial users of Workhorse chassis products however it has been put out there in conversation that good PM practices and a high frequency rate of brake usage make for less issues.
In my opinion, when the NTHSA concludes their fact finding, I believe that this may factor into the overall outcome of the study.

DriVer--
Yes, there is a major concern with International-made School Busses, ones that have the Bosch Brake System that is giving WCC Owners fits...and there are others. I found this out during a search on Google, using the search term: ZOPS+recall...
WCC Owners are not the only ones having problems.

That said, those model brakes (ZOPS) were subject to the recall and as far as I know those issues most likely are behind them at this point. (school busses)
What I was talking about were the current ZOHT brakes which are used on vehicles other than RVs.

Driver-
Holy smoke! Upon further review I would not bat an eye if I owned a rig with ZOHT Brakes, GM uses Delco/Bosch brakes on Caddies..the only thing I can see that would *possibly* make them better is to remove the ZOHT calipers and have them bore sleeved to OE specs with stainless steel liners...and maybe they already are as OE. Problem still exists with WCC Chsssis that somehow missed the re-call.
I would use Mobil1 Syn Grease on the ZOHT caliper pins, however. The Mobil Syn grease will not attack the rubber-like sleeve on the brake pins. Which I think are a Bosch anti-rattle devise. A Google search on ZOHT+recall turns up: Zero...
