We are having a problem with a terrible odor that occurs after driving 30 miles or so. Someone told us that it could be a problem with the catalytic converter. Has anyone else had this problem with the Workhorse?

The only Rotten Egg odor I'm aware of usually comes from the hot water heater.
I've not had nor heard of this problem from any chassis.

The odor could be venting up from your gray water tanks. Make sure there's water in every trap including the washing machine's. It's pretty easy to dislodge a few ounces of water in a trap when you hit a good size bump.
Thaks for posting and chosing iRV2.com. Please come back and visit and post often.

Is it inside or outside the coach?
If inside - make sure that your vents are closed while driving or a vaccume will be created and you can "suck" up sewer gasses from the toilet. Also make sure there is a good supply of water in the toilet before traveling.
If outside - it is a problem with your fuel or emission system.

The rotten egg odor could be the propane/LPG system. Make sue all the stove burners are fully turned off. Check for leaks or have your coach checked by a dealer.
If you have never smelled LPG, go to your BBQ grill and turn on the LPG but don't light it then smell it. Let the gas blow away for a few minutes before lighting your grill again. If this is the same odor, turn off the LPG at the tank and run to your dealer for repairs.

Thanks for the prompt responses. To answer JCM's question. Yes, we smell the odor both inside and outside.
Will try all suggestions -- thanks again.

The previous owner of my MH had that problem and found that the batteries were the cause. Probably due to over charging. The dealer replaced all 3 batteries but when I bought it in Feb. I found that the coach batteries had frozen cells and the charger wasn't. Two more new batteries and a new charger and all is well.

Since we're getting closer to Halloweeen, I'm thinking that someone may have put a couple dozen eggs up under your coach and they're getting ripe!

Interesting that you would mention the batteries. We just came back from a couple of camping days. Our batteries were very low and when my husband opened up the battery compartment -- there was the odor! Don't know if that's been going on all this time, but it certainly looks like we have found at least one source of the odor.

Well, good for you, finding the problem is sometimes the hardest part. I would make sure you get the charging system checked out too.
