It is my understanding that there is a RPM limiter on the engine when the coach isn't moving.

Nole, I dont mean to call you out, while its tempting to "listen to 'er sing" it is about the worst thing you can do, so WH has built in some protection.. Better to hear its "song" when loaded, and workin'...rgr..

Driver says..."Totally normal and equipped with a rev limiter and fuel cut off at 80 MPH"

Thats true Mike, but they are very different situations. "Unloaded" and "loaded" are totally different dynamics.. I'm surprised that WH allows 3k unloaded. Personally, I dont see the need, but they do, and thus it is...rgr...

I thought the control module came with the 8.1 engine package and was programmed by GM. Workhorse does no programming and does not tell GM how to program. Although, I may be incorrect.

No Tom, Im sure you are right, (tho I wouldnt be surprised that the "speed limit" was a WH, or maybe NTSB or some other acronym, requested feature). I was just using WH as the "end seller".. easier than tracing the "heritage" of all the components...rgr...

Even if gas were two bucks a gallon, would you really want to drive your motorhome, or any motorhome for that matter, at 80 MPH?

Now, thats what Im talkin about..

Thanks Neil.. Thats a pretty clean GMC, except for that big wing.. I'll be surprised if they only get it to 125..tho the CD# get pretty bad on any box going that fast..The front wheel drive is a big limiter, there is a guy on another board that is getting a "tuned 502" sorted out, but its in a FWD Revcon. It would be hard enough to get a rwd "Box" hooked up to the salt, a fwd is a real chore.. Thanks again for the links, got my blood stired...rgr...
