Hello everyone just joined the site. We are looking foward to making new friends. Has anyone installed a safe t plus on their rig? I just bought one and am going to try and install it myself. Any advice?

Find a flat parking lot long enough so you can adjust it. Installation is fairly easy.

Make very small adjustments at the drag link, wrench it down and drive it around. The vehicle should not want to pull in either direction so it may take some time and effort to get the vehicle to point forward without pulling. Remember, make the adjustments in small increments, perhaps as little as 1/8th of a turn at a time.

Good advice so far and welcome to the forum!
We love ours and you should have no trouble with the installation.
Best of luck...
Rick

When I installed mine I used tape to mark the bracket mount points on the tie rod.
It made it easy to zero it in in just a few passes.
It did take a couple hundred miles to get used to though.
There is a slightly different feel.

If it is set correct you will find a 99% differance in the driving. I can use one finger on highway (don't but can). Big rigs no problem anymore.

With a Track Bar & Safe-T-Plus combination, one handed driving all day long is the norm and I find myself arriving at my destination unfrazzled by the day's drive. Previously, I found that it was quite some chore fighting the wind and side loads from passing vehicles.

Ditto here... minus the Track Bar. The first 6000 miles behind the wheel of my new coach were not at all the pleasure I had hoped they would be. Two handed driving was a MUST and I got pretty tired out after a few hours of that.
Now the trim kit for the Safe T Plus is on my wish list so I can adjust on the fly to changing driving conditions. Just love my gadgets.

Rick, is that a new option for the STP? I know that Blue Ox Tru Center offers you electric trim and the latest revision appears to be working just fine.

It's actually made by Super Steer (Henderson's Line Up) for the STP SuperSteer Trim Unit for Freightliner Chassis
I think it's been out about two years now. I believe there was initially some noise about the folks at STP saying that using it would void the STP warranty but I contacted both Henderson's and STP and eventually came to the conclusion that using it was fine.
Glad to hear that the Tru Center is now working as designed. They sure had a bad run there for a while.
Rick
