Is there a list of what ScanGauge reads/displays for the workhose 8.1? Or maybe what it does not read?

Dale, are we any closer to a solution for transmission oil temp for the 6=speed?

FPR - Fuel pressure
That is the main thing I want do to ongoing engine problem. Was told earlier that Workhorse 8.1 did not have FPR. Would someone that has ScanGague and 8.1 please confirm.
Just bought an ELM327 and it does not have FPR.

As far as I know, the Scan Gauge II will not read the FPR. You would have to attach a fuel gauge to the schrader valve on top of the engine. I do know that my SG II does not give me a FPR reading.

The standard codes will only work IF the ECM provides the data via the sensor. As far as I know the 8.1 does NOT have a fuel pressure sensor.
The 6 speed info is in the limbo. I am trying to get Allison to cough up the data but so far no luck. I will take another run at them and see if I can get some info.

Dale, I concur with your assessment. The SGII XGauge does not display fuel pressure.

Dale, on the TFT, transmission fluid temp, you said it was for the Allison 5 speed, It also works on the GM 4 speed, it usually runs about 150-160* but it must work because the TFT also rises on mtn climbs, I think I once saw 205* climbing Vail Pass east bound. Contrary to what I heard that engine / transmission braking also heats up the tranny on long descents, I have not noticed that at all. The tranny temps drop just like the engine.
However on HPR (horsepower), my SG says I have about 55 or 60HP as I recall, is this in line with what every body else shows on their SG?

Max,
The SG HPR display varies as a function of RPM & load.
Loafing along a level highway at 60 will generally show under 100 Horse.
I have seen mine hit 385 HPR at 4200 RPM when 'briskly' merging onto the freeway.

My Scan Gauge II showed maximum of 418 HP on my trip to Reno in June. It also read less than 100 under normal load.

There are 2 TFT codes ... one for Allison and 1 for GM trannys.
The 8.1 use VPW protocol so only those Xgauges will work assuming there is a sensor providing the data to the ECM.
