You will not find it much cheaper than that and its a bargain at that price. They just did a software update so make sure the one you buy is current(it should be by now) I am pretty sure there is a code for the allison tranny temp,I just set mine for my Ford tranny and it is a great tool on the road to have. They have set up a forum http://www.mileagepros.com/Forum/ . There is a $ 5.00 off coupon on there.

Yes, I see them on eBay for $160 with free shipping. This is where I got mine.

You'll be able to read the Allsion sump temperature but you'll have to enter the codes in the X-Guage feature of the ScanGuage. You can also program the instantaneous Horsepower. Programming the X-Guage is simple.

Download the ScanGuage manual and XGuage data from scanguage's website. http://www.scangauge.com/

I also use mine in a couple Hondas.

I just paid $159 including shipping at Amazon. Now I need to do the tranny temp setting. It's comforting to see the 11.3 mpg with cruize at 55 but a bit disconcerting to see the 3.5 mpg in 3rd gear and the drop to 1.5 mpg at a stop sign take off will modify how hard you push the accelerator. Still comes in with 7.2 avg towing a 99 Ranger. I'll check the web site to determine how to program the tranny temp. As soon as I installed it there was a stored code that I didn't know about, so that was interesting. Marv

The code was PO506 it is an 02 W-22. Gonna run up the grapevine this morning so we shall see some low numbers. I usually run at 56 where it shifts to 5th. Not up the vine of course. Marv

Send a message via AIM to Oemtech
According to my documentation a PO506 is "Idle Control System Low RPM".

Thanks T.V. Real good info.

If you get a code on the scangauge II, and you correct the problem, can you clear the onboard computer also or does a "higher authority" have to do it?

You can clear the code retention with the scangauge. I never got a check engine light with the PO506 fault. However the GM site says if no repeat of the fault after 3 starts it will not light the check engine light. So I just erased it. This morning I got the "service engine soon" light. No codes and the light went out after the 2nd start up. Haven't got the book out yet to determine why the light came on. Just turned 50k miles on an 02 W-22, any thoughts? Marv
