Did a search of the form and if the answer is here, I sure didn't see it. On my w22 IC display I can get Oil pressure so I know it is available but I could not find an xcode setting for this. I asked the folks at LL and they tell me there is no code. How is it that possible when when the IC can see it?

Hopefully OEMY will see this and reply. I think Dale is our SGII expert here.

I have an X-Gauge SGII and I do not have an Engine Oil Pressure option.

Kind of my point, Mike. My IC display can show Oil Pressure by stepping through the options on the mode button which means there must be a code coming out of the computer for it. So there ought to be a corresponding xgauge code.

I have looked for the oil pressure option almost as much as the 6 speed option and I have not found either one. Someone from GM or Acita would have to tell us how they getthe oil pressure.

Good question did you ask them why if the IC can recognize a signal from the oil pressure sensor why the X Scan Gauge II cannot, and if so what was their response.
Thanks
I also have the Scan Gauge II upgraded to X model.

Before SG II can read the sensors there have to available PID's (Parameter ID's) for the network protocol (CAN, VPW, PWM etc). If the ECM receives these signals you can read the data and format it into a readable form. I suspect that the Acita cluster is reading raw data off the oil pressure switch and displaying it on the cluster through software contained in the cluster. IE - they are not getting the data off the OBD2 bus.
OBTW - There is a Firmware update for the Scangauge II... Contact your dealer or Linear Logic for more info.

I contacted Linear Logic several months ago and was told that the update would wipe out the Xgauge set up. So I figured that it was not worth it.

Hello,
For those of us that do not have a Scan Gauge II and want to install an Oil Pressure Gauge as well as an Water Temperature gauge, where is the best place to tap into for mechanical sender? I like to have a gauge that actually moves, instead of the factory one(temp) that waits till you have gotten hot.

The advantage of buying a SG II is that it will serve MANY more purposes than what you'll get by buying and installing individual gauges, and the SG II "installation" is so clean and simple....just plug it into the OBD connector.
If you order a SG II from Oemy, he'll even program it for YOUR chassis! That's what I did, and love the flexibility and ease of use. It allows you to monitor 4 "gauges" at once.
