Let us not forget that we have seen a few cases here in this forum of GY Gatorbacks failing while in service on the 8.1. Please keep a eye on that and let us know if it ever gets to be a problem. Thx.

Somewhere back in the stack of my posts, I posted about a noise I had. It wasn't a loud noise but a chirping noise

After changing the belt and idler pully I still have the noise and was finally told it was coming from the harmonic ballancer

I say again the compressor clutch bearing is rolling and carries the load of the belt at all times. A/C on or not. The compressor bearings stop and start with clutch engagement.

I had a simular noise and it turned out to be a failing exhaust manifold gasket. Sounded like someone blowing on a piece of grass suspended between two fingers - like we did as a kid.
Worth looking at.
