Is there a list of the Select WH Service Centers that will be involved in the package pricing? I called two WH service centers in NJ and got a " I don't know what you're talking about". Where are the notification letters? How can some people are getting the recall taken care of right now?

It is my understanding that the list of SELECT ASCs will be a feature on the resource center website WHEN it finally gets updated. AFAIK, the formal recall letters have not yet been mailed, and I've not seen one. Those who have already had their recall completed were apparently able to find an ASC who only required to know the chassis vin # and already had the new calipers in stock.

One thing this recall is proving is that some shops are a lot more competent than others, IMO. Workhorse has been providing ALL of them with the same info and opportunities, but not all of them seem to be paying attention. Ed

We are a select service center but we are still waiting for the pallets of "package pricing" components (rotors, pads, seals, gaskets, etc.). They are going to get those letters out but they have to allow time for the service centers to get these parts before they are overrun.

Here in the Maritime Provinces of Canada we do not have a service center. The handiest one is in Maine 6hr minimum run one way which would mean a day down with 2 overnight stays and the trip back. The parts may be free but its going to cost us big time in expenses. Just off the phone with WH and they have no plans for a WSC in our area. Pretty bad when you have to leave the country to have a safety recall done we could go to Quebec but thats a longer run.
Sorry for the rant but right now WH service sucks!!!!

I know that there are those who may disagree with this, but I hope that there is a select service center reasonably close to where I live. After 40k miles and over 7 years of use and one brake failure, I for one, will be glad to spend $1500.00 to have a brand new brake system on my W-20 instead of the fix. Shoot man, I got a new Allison tranny filled with the good stuff last year and a new brake system, well I'm just besides myself with joy! (yea, right).

Really, I would be calling Jon Brazel up right now to make an appointment if Washington State wasn't so darn far away!

Oh, I forgot. Just checked the Workhorse website this morning and the anticipated list of select service centers is not there yet.

Was there a service center there when you bought the coach? Don`t know if they will except work done anywhere else in an extreme case such as yours,I doubt it.

Yes we had a service center here up until 2 months ago and they let it go for some reason.

The recall must be done by a WHSC as per phone conversion with WH this morning.

We only have 2 in BC. One at the coast and one on Vancouver Island. I have talked to some of the ones that were and they said they had too much trouble with Workhorse.
Workhorse helped me when my oil pump shaft broke. They allowed a local truck shop repair it and paid for it all. Otherwise it would have been a 350 mile tow.
You will probably have to go to Main. There are less and less "authorized" service centers in Canada (and the US). Triple E is using more Ford Chassis because of easier service.

That is too bad that we are loosing Service Centers I know in talking with the owner of my RV dealership he will not order any units on WH because of no local service availability.

Bud,

Keep looking here for the announcement: www.workhorse.com/brakeresourcecenter The recall letter will be posted both there and here. You should be getting one in the mail.

Take a look in the stickies at the top of this Forum.

I will have more to say about "Select Service Centers" in a separate thread. Larry's here in MYR is one. Complete brake job (90%) out the door $1499.00.

Just today I finished having the 51101-C Bosch Caliper Recall accomplished.

Bob: Yes you are right, and that is still expected. They have apparently "begun" to update that site, because it now contains the below pasted wording revision:

Workhorse Custom Chassis (Workhorse) is pleased to announce that the redesigned service brake caliper assemblies, which represent the final remedy for recall 50901-C, are now available at your authorized Workhorse service center or dealership. In addition, Workhorse has assigned a new safety recall number, 51101-C, for the final remedy procedure. On September 17, 2010, Workhorse expects to begin mailing letters to the owners of record for the motor homes affected by this safety recall. Please follow the instructions contained in the letter.

I noticed the are now quoting a date for mailing out the letters, and confirming the campaign number change. Ed

Yesterday AM I had my brake fluid R & R'd and spent the PM calling ALL the Workhorse centers in NJ of which there are 6 the first 5 replied with ??. The 6 th one is set to go, even to the point of having a special on their website advertising the recall job for $1599. out the door. I guess the difference between South Carolina pricing and New Jersey is the Cost of living. I am booked for Oct 18th, it is 70 miles from my house about 15 miles north of the GW bridge. The brake fluid I just had replaced will be sacrificed, however I have a trip at the end of this month, so the peace of mind will be worth it.

Hi Rick,

I am in Nova Scotia and had planned to stop at the centre in Bangor in November while in transit to Texas. I sent them an email asking if they could do it in late Nov and perhaps allow me to boondock on their property the night before so that they can get started when the doors open - no response as yet

If this appointment does not materialize I will try to find a centre further west or perhaps have it done in Mission TX where we will spend the winter

Preston
