What is the best way to reduce the side to side sway (roll?)? I am pretty pleased with the ride of our motorhome, but would like to reduce the sway some. Thanks, Rick

Go to the Winnebago forum and read the article near the top of the list called Driver's Aftermarket Modifications.
We followed his advice and now have a great handling coach.

Rick and Cheryl,
We have had great success with the front and rear Anti Sway Bar, especially with the KONI FSD shock you already have. We have them in stock here at the shop or come see me in Quartzite, I will be in the Brazel's RV Performance booth and would love to give you the best in customer service.
Thanks,

Keith, I will be stopping by the Brazel's booth to have my UltraPower Programming checked,(mileage went down after it was installed) so will talk to you also. If you can, please e-mail me the details, price, etc. on the sway bars. Thanks, Rick

Rick and Cheryl,
That's perfect, I'm looking forward to meeting you. At Indio this past weekend we installed the front bar for $760 and the rear one for $999. I spoke with Mike and he will honor those prices at Quartzite.
Front bar is 1 5/8" with the rear at 1 1/2", they are from IPD which is now Roadmaster. The steel is 4130 chrome moly heat treated to spring steel strength. On all the coaches we have installed these, the customers love em, they really do work. Mike has a total of 3 sets with 2 of those presold. I have a set here in Redlands, if neccessary, I will bring them when I head to Quartzite this Friday morning.
Thanks again,

Man! You can sure pump a lot of money into these things. Fortunately I like mine the way it came right out of the box. I did however have Redlands Truck do a front alignment on it recently.

In 2005, Workhorse switched from a 2 inch front stabilizer bar to a 2 1/2 inch bar. I replaced my 2 inch with the 2 1/2 inch and it made a temendous improvement in side to side sway.
There were a bunch of posts on the Workhorse forum about it and a number of people had the replacement done. Everyone that posted was impressed with the improvement as I recall.

This has been said before but it's worth repeating. Before spending money on things to add to your motorhome, make sure what came with it is working properly. In other words check tire pressure, wheel alignment, weigh your motorhome to make sure weight is evenly distributed, are your current shocks good? Etc, etc, etc. Then after making sure what you have is operating correctly add some aftermarket equipment if needed and desired. For those that have done this it seems that the rear trac bar gives the most bang for the buck in making the ride better. We added one to our motorhome and are very happy with the results.

It's been a long time coming for me but yes indeed I saw one here at the Tampa SuperShow and Coachmen presented the first such badged motorhome.
The SSC features a rear track bar, special add-on instrument functionality and tuned exhaust headers.
If you are thinking of add-on performance and handling packages for your motorhome it's not something that you just want to throw money at. Find out what your needs are and how best to address those needs.
I took 2nd test drive in the new UFO chassis today and I accomplished quite a few amazing feats that exceeded my expectations. Driving along the I75 northbound the first perception I felt was the fuel cut off. It hit a flat spot at 75 MPH however I was told that the production UFOs are limited like all Workhorse motorhomes to 80 MPH. What's remarkable about going 75 was that I achieved that speed without even trying nor did I know I was going that fast.
Traffic on the I75 moves at speeds well over 70 MPH and the UFO felt right at home. Straight line directional control was effortless and true. We turned off the highway at exit 265 slowing a bit into the ramp however the exit ramp is banked quite a bit and I was able to maintain a good rate of speed without any need to get on the brakes.
One maneuver that impressed me was a high speed 180 degree exit ramp off route 582 and going south on route 301. Marked 15 MPH the UFO cut through the corner at a very well mannered and controlled 23 to 24 MPH. Ed Gray was aboard for the test drive as well and he was invited to drive over the same route and he took the turn at 25 MPH without any lean, push, tendency to over steer or any feeling of being tight into the corner. Truly neutral in feeling the UFO cut through the corner very capably and exiting the turn under power the UFO accelerated up to speed in no time.
The motorhome we test drove was the Georgetown UFO and one such motorhome was just delivered to a retail customer. (see the January Horsepower post) At the SuperShow Forest River is showing 2 UFO motorhomes to the public one in a conventional wrapper and another in full paint.
The UFO is really remarkable and one can say with confidence after their test drive that it certainly isn't lacking in performance or handling and it doesn't need any after market help. What a driver will walk away with is that the chassis is definitely hooked up with the road and it gives the driver excellent feedback and control.
Later this week, Monaco will be bringing in their own UFO offering. (*) Tentative
Winnebago Industries' Itasca is showing the Latitude at the Harberson Swanson display.
If you find yourself coming to the SuperShow, you can see all the UFO offerings in one place.
