My 2007 Sightseer sucks in the fuel as fast as I can pump it. Maybe your vent tube is blocked causing backpressure.

My guess would be either a pinched filler tube, pinched vent line from filler tube, or possibly both.. Why not slide under the coach and physically check condition of filler and vent lines all the way from the gas cap to the tank.

Check the Winnebago owners forum for a similar thread. My 2007 Winn. Tour had the same problem and Freightliner replaced the whole tank at no charge. Now I can even use the big nozzles on the truck island with no problem.

No problem on my Suncruiser, but occasionally it happens in my car - just repositioning the nozzle (eithier the angle, depth or rotating it) seems to help the problem.

My Dolphin was a real pitb to fill. Looking underneath, it seemed the overflow return line was too low in relation to the rest of the system. I disconnected a rubber connector hose at the overflow line low point and drained about a half cup of gas. After that, it filled fine. It's a bit slow again. Thinking about putting an in-line drain valve on the overflow line to routinely drain it.

My rig got that way shortly after I picked it up. The vent tube was zip tied to the filler, but had slipped below it or maybe was tied that way from the factory. I rotated it around to the top so it was always higher than the larger fill tube and would not get fuel sloshed back into it from the tank. No more slow fill, as the tank vapor can always vent back out (no more fuel blocking the return air path).

Let me draw you a picture or two

Most cars

. . Tank

Most RV's
------______TANK

See how that filler line runs dang near flat in the RV

Solution.. IF the station has a concrete parking lot drop filler side jacks to tilt things a bit

If it has asphalt, lay pads down first

I would take a look and see exactly how flat the filler tube is. I'm sure it isn't horizontal or the fuel wouldn't flow down the fill pipe. Once the pipe exits into the tank it's like Niagara Falls.

I would just make sure the venting is OK. I even have trouble sometimes and I just reposition the nozzle. Some nozzles are more tricky than others.

Our Dolphin had exactly this same problem, and as soon as I rotated the vent tube to the top side of the fill tube all the way up from the very bottom and tied it up tight, it fills perfectly. Did this 3 or 4 years ago.

I had a similar issue with my Dolphin that TEXANS had. In my case the vent line had a sag in it and allowed liquid to block the vent line. I replaced the vent line and attached it so they were no sags. This solved my fueling problems.

When it was new my '05 Bounder had the same problem. My fix was to shorten the vent hose. At the filler end there was a large (7") dip in the vent hose, I straigtened it by cutting about 6" off of it, reconnected it and have not had a problem since. In my case fuel would get into the vent hose and sit in the dip causing a air lock I guess.

Good luck!

Tincup, How right you are. Your vent pipe turned into a P trap instead of a vent.
