I have a 1999 Georgie Boy class A motor home on a P-30 Chevy chassis While leveling it I noticed the break peddle got soft on me. My first thought was the break fluid was low. I have attempted to find the master cylinder to no avail. Can anyone tell me where to find it? Any other suggestions as to why it might do this would be appreciated.

Thanks

On a P series chassis lube point diagram, it shows the MC to be just aft of the driver's side front axle. It "may" be located on or above the chassis rail. I'm pretty sure there is a mechanical linkage from the brake pedal, thru the firewall or the floor, to the MC so I hope you can trace that and locate the MC. Please let us know where you found it. Thanks, Ed

Once you find the MC, please consider REPLACING the fluid with fresh DOT 3. Generally, a "soft pedal" results from fluid that is too hot and may be "boiling", which indicates too much moisture in the fluid. They now recommend we change our BF every two years. Good luck. Ed
