All depends how big of a charger we're talking about.

Hi, My 99 Beaver has a siemens 100 watt mono solar pannel that measures 59x23".
I notice it charging during full sun. it does a good job in full sun.... nothing on a cloudy day. My previous motor home, I installed an amorphous
18x48 pannel... amorphous pannels charge with less light(cloudy day) where the mono need direct sun...
I just installed in inside the windshield and it worked
I am thinking of adding a couple amorphous.for a cloudy day.....
hope this helps

jeff

You want a solar pannel that will put out about 2amp...
Here is one on ebay with a controler...keeps it from discharging in the dark and
contols voltage...

I have 3 panels on top of mine and never worry about house or chassis batteries other than a little water now and then. My advise is don't go cheap, you get what you pay for and check out Welcome to AM Solar - Your RV Solar Specialists since 1987 I installed myself and they are a great help over the phone if you run into any problems.

Amorphous I feel is the way to go. Here is a link to a couple of good choices.
25W Amorphous Solar Panel 25 Watt A-Si Thin film Module - eBay (item 150557493152 end time Mar-04-11 03:04:25 PST)
This one will need a controler to keep from over charging and draining at night. Controlers are about $20. Amorphous will continue to charge in low light. Here
in Indiana I only get about 3hrs of charge with my mono during full sun which is
about 2 or 3 days a week except in winter which is once per week if I am lucky.
I saw a demo where a guy put his hand over a mono and it stopped charging from
the little shadow it produced... same thing on a amorphous and it still put out 13v.
Here is one from northern tools but they don't post the size or amps...
Sunforce Amorphous Solar Panel - 25 Watt -New - eBay (item 280628310683 end time Feb-17-11 09:34:38 PST)
Good luck and may the sun shine on you

I understand Northen will ship free to the store you order it from. This looks good, will check out.
