When I purchased my 2004 Itasca Motorhome, it did not come with a spare tire. I have contacted the local Workhorse dealer and have been quoted about $600 for the tire and rim. It is a W22 chassis and has 24570R19.5 tires on it.Has anyone else had to buy a rim and is this the going price or is there a better mail order price since the local dealer has to order it anyway. I have been able to find tires at different places but not the rim.

Good news is that you can fit a 19.5 inch tire up in between the frame rails however you will have to get a suitable carrier. I'm also not certain about outside diameter between the Michelin LRF and a Goodyear LRG in 19.5. I'm thinking it should fit but we would have to check the charts to make sure.

Thanks for the info DriVer! Fortunately the coach did come with a carrier for the spare, just no spare. Will be leaving for 2-plus months to Alaska in June and wanted to make sure I had a spare.

Would you be changing the tire yourself or using a service like Coach Net? While it is nice to have the spare already mounted, you could just carry the tire along and have it mounted as necessary. If you suffered a blow out, you just need to get to a place where a good tire can be replaced.

On our last trip to Alaska, one of the tires unzipped. There was enough mileage on the other tires that I replaced the two front tires with new ones and carried the two best old ones as spares. Those tires and rims are heaveeee!

Good advise Rocky! There is no way that I am going to attempt to change a tire myself, so since I would be using my road service anyway, they could mount the good tire on the rim that had the bad tire and be done!

I had not thought of just taking an extra tire with no rim until I got the post from Rocky 2. That makes more sense than carrying the extra weight of the rim. Thanks for the post!!

I would make sure the road service available is capable of installing tire on rim before attempting trip up Alcan highway. Just a thought.

I have an 04 Adventurer, 33V and it came with a spare. If you have the carrier maybe the dealer took out the spare. I would check with Winnebago and see if coach came with spare.
As for getting road service to mount tire on rim it would be very dificult on the road with no tire machine. I had them once do that on a tow dolly and it was extremely hard and cost me extra labor. Good Luck
