I'm getting ready to regap my OEM plugs to .045 and was wondering if those that have done this turned the wheels on the side being worked all the way in or out to allow better access from the wheel well? I think I said this right.

Yes, I did do that. In my case I also raised the moho on it's jacks and then put blocks under the frame just in case the jacks decided to let go.
You probably don't need to do that though.

I raised my front end with the jacks and turned the wheels, and laid an old tarp/sheet over the wheel...

Do you remember which way the wheels were turned on the side that was being worked on?

Bob, About safety blocks.
If youve ever had a friend, working alone, get trapped by a slow leaking hydraulic jack, then killed because nobody came around until it was too late, you get very religious about heavy duty jack stands and solid wood blocking.
Ive been there and have been crusading this for the last 57 years.
Stay Safe.
Dick

PS: Don't forget to drape a towel over the drag link.
Jack stands are highly recommended especially if you are doing this process by yourself.

I will admit to working under my motor home without jack stands... But then I also work under it without jacks of any kind.
If using jacks. use stands. That is THE rule
And like the original seat belt law.. if you get caught in violation, DEATH may well be the penalty (And note, that seat belt law still applies)
I often hear of folks who think a seat belt is "Too confining"... Wonder how confining they find their coffin to be?

Why not just replace the Plugs and Wires while your under there. You have remove one end of the wire and I would suspect you just may destroy one or more while taking them off.
ADD A SET OF TV50'S OR 409'S
and a Set of AC Delco 41-993 Plugs

Good point. Do you have the Taylor PN for the wires and which one would be the best way to go?

I didn't have to jack the motorhome up at all. I went through the doghouse on some, through the wheel wells on others. The coach never left the ground. I have a P32 so that may make a difference. I have to tell you that I changed the wires to Taylor Extremes and the plugs to 41-932's and then re-gapped the plugs.I have put on over 3000 miles since changing and have had no ill effects or problems and I have absolutely increased my gas mileage just over 1/2 mpg. The engine is definitely smother and has noticeably more power. I thought it was all bull when I read there would be an improvement. It's true in my case. The plugs and wires are expensive but it runs better and that makes it worth it to me.
