Returning from my last trip, I picked up a squeaking noise from my front suspension.

I got under it this morning and determined that the right donut looking thing above the leaf spring is making the noise. Now what? Does it need to be replaced? Lubricated in some way? Other than being slightly annoying, is it a problem? Has the donut failed and is not doing whatever it should?

Thanks for any expertise or good guesses,

You might want to check out Sumo Springs it is a replacement the the Air Like spring. They really make a diffrence, they take out a lot of the side to side sway and really help with the concrete seams and bridge crossings on the hiway. Cost about $175 a cheap fix. Check them out a www.supersprings.com

If your spring is riding on the “donut looking thing” you need to have your motorhome weighed. The spring should only come in contact with the “donut looking thing” during front end bounce.

FT, Not necessarily so. I'm riding on my like air springs on the rear axle and I am not exceeding any of the ratings.

For example a W20 on a 33 foot rig may have an inch of free play. On my 38 foot W22 - not so much but the like-air spring still works as advertised.

Oh, OK. I was just going by my 36 foot. Even though I am close to max weight I still have space between. I do have firestone airbags on the rear though.

FT, Your air bags came as OE installs didn't they?

I beleive that I have fixed the squeak. I use the power washer on the 'like air' spring to get out any grit that I may have picked up in a Death Valley windstorm and the hit it with dry lube as suggested by dan l. After this I could not reproduce the squeak but I have yet to test drive it.

I have had my motor home weighed at each corner, twice. I am under max but not by much.

Are the air bags adjustable? This and the sumo spring suggestion have me thinking.

DriVer, Yes, Rexhall added Firestone airbags on the rear as standard equipment.

Bruceh, They are adjustable. I run about 50pis in mine.
