Any ideas on the advantages of using the larger steering wheel.

Sure, Much easier to see the dash, all gauges are visible no matter where you tilt the wheel.
Much more comfortable feel and easier to hold because it fits my hands better.

I'm considering a smaller wheel just so I can turn my driver's seat around on a Natl Dolphin. Something to think about. Measure the clearance before you 'upgrade'.

We never turned the front seat around. So the bigger wheel was a better choice. Made a big improvement in comfort and being able to see the dash. Witch was more important to me.

A few things to think about when you say that you can't turn the seat around.
1) Can you lower the seat?
2) Is the back tilted back?
3) Is the arm in the lowest position?
4) Is the steering wheel all the way foward?

Dale,
It's a known problem for National Dolphin owners. I'm not alone. We've discussed this issue in the Natl forum. It was good to know that trying to manipulate the items you listed - with no success - wasn't because I can't see or hear anymore. Appreciate the assist though.

I wonder if the big wheel would clear my big belly?

By the way you can get a Workhorse horn buttom from your WCC service center. It's about $35.00. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>
If you have the smaller OEM steering wheel, does the horn button fit or is it a different size?
Thank you,

Is there a performance improvement by installing the larger wheel, e.g., lsee corrections etc.
Perhaps , other than esthetics, does it make sense?

These big wheels are a carry over from the days of no power steering.
Now all they do is get in the way of my stomach!!
Those that know me will agree.

With the larger wheel you would have to increase movement to make the same corrections with the smaller wheel.. I can drive all day with one hand on the wheel and guide the motorhome effortlessly. I have had both a small rubber wheel and a large 2 spoke wheel and I appreciate the larger wheel a great deal when maneuvering in close quarters.
