I have had several e-mails for information on our super single set-up.
Alcoa rim # - 841402 22.5X14-15ยบ DC
Michelin Tire # - XTE X-1 445/50R22.5
This is a lot of tire and we really have not been able to determine if we have affected ride in any way. I will say it has made us stronger - at least 300 pounds each and lighter in the wallet ~$750 for the tire, $480 for the rim.

Thanks for the attempt, but I think you will need to log in to the PHOTO section to post a picture. Looking forward to seeing it. THANKS, ED

Thanks for posting the picture in the PHOTOS section. Please tell us what was the original motivation to use the supersingle setup. Are those massive tires more "bullet proof" or what? Thanks, ED

And do you now need to carry two spares with two different rims? If you had a blowout on the rear, are the 445/50R22.5s pretty scarce to find?

Workhorse has asked this same question when they ride in our vehicle. The response is - " Have you ever tried to replace a rear wheel in the field without an impact wrench and wheel dolly?" Fronts maybe but rears with the long hub pilot (that will rust to the steel wheel and lock solid) and long reach to the lug nuts are extremely difficult. I would say 95% of the owners out there will have to call a tire truck that will carry a Goodyear RV (not as easy to find the Michelin) if they know they are going to a flat RV tire call and replace it in the field. Replacing the fronts are much easier but after you stop shaking and your heart stops beating 180bpm do you really want to wrestle with 8 lug nuts that need 600ft-lbs of torque to break free? Of course not, go grab a refreshment of your choice and call the tire truck. I see a possible 180 pounds of cargo capacity wasted on a spare wheel/tire going down the road every day. Don't get me wrong, if you have a blowout and you are carrying a spare, life is much easier for the repair truck, you will still face the replacement tire and installation costs.
I had no trouble finding the 445R50 from a local truck tire shop. The trouble was finding someone who could properly balance with load. If you needed to replace in a remote location I could see an issue with delivery time but that also exists with the RV tires from Goodyear and Michelin.
This is an option for a very few rigs. We had to do it to get more space for a prototype suspension. You do not get a good feel for the size of this tire/wheel until you see it in person. The aluminum thickness @ the hub is at least 1" and the tire stands by itself with no possibility of falling over when not on the truck.
