WHile at the show I saw seven coaches on the UFO chassis, most of which were around $139K.The Winnebago Destination was the most impressive & it had a Freightliner Destination next to it,the Freighliner was $169k.For the Money my choice is the Destination/Workhorse combo. The amount of room in the UFO versus a W series is very noticeable.I believe a HUGE advantage of the UFO is noise,I could not even tell the engine was on without checking the TACH.AN interesting note is that the diesel's that are trying to compete with the UFO are Allison 1000 series 5 speed's & low horsepower engine's(300HP) I don't like the 5 speeds because they are maxed out for torque(660 ft.lbs.) with that engine.

The Destination MSRP runs from $164k to $170k for the FL diesel or the UFO. That's only a $6k MSRP base spread across the gas and diesel Destination line.
Why was there a $30k spread between the FL and UFO at the show when the actual MSRP spread is 6k max throughout the Destination model line???
IMHO, the UFO is being more heavily discounted because of very slow sales.
And, why no UFOs with the Cummins ISB??? I know Winnebago isn't using that combo but is anyone??? Where is the Universal Fuel Option????

Tom,
You may be comparing the UFO diesel with the FRTLNR.The one's I saw were quite a bit higher the the Gas UFO.

If you're referring to my base Destination prices. I got the Destination base MSRP high/low range from Winnebago's website. This price range includes both diesel and gas Destinations. Only a $6k difference.
I have no pricing on the UFO diesel because Winnebago doesn't offer it and I don't think any have ever been sold or even built.

Saw a Winnie UFO this weekend at the campground we were in. It was traveling with a dupicate MH that was diesel. The WH was very quiet as it rolled by. The exhaust looked like it would be easy to rip off since it was the lowest point.

TOM N: I don't think the previously announced ISB/UFO is ever going to happen. As of this date, the previously announced Maxxforce7/UFO has not been released. TODAY, the UFO is only available as a 8.1L GAS chassis. There MAY be other announcements coming in the near future, but only WCC knows, and they are being rather tight lipped.
As for your pricing questions, please refer to the Lazy Days website to see the difference in competing models. A while back, I posted about two Destinations (basically identical) for sale at LD. The gas UFO Winnie 39W Destination was MSRP = $178,050.00 The same coach built on the FCCC Diesel chassis was $194,087.00 which means the difference is around $16,000.00 I think some of the confusion about price differences MAY have been due to there being lower priced diesel chassis which were/are available without the 2007 price increase for the new emmision standards engines requiring ULSD.
I believe you will find a wide price differential going forward between gas & diesel chassis coaches. I have no info about WCC diesel UFO availability or price difference. ED
