I used to have a Ford diesel and Lance camper until my last trip to Ocotillo Wells in Nov 2003. That trip I realized the rig was getting too small for the family. Since my wife has always wanted a motorhome, I started surfing the net to find out as much info on motorhomes as I could. By pure dumb luck, I found this web site and the WCMCF. I used all the great info to help me make my first motorhome purchase.
We ended up with a Southwind 32v with a Workhorse W20 chassis. I can tell you I was not sure what the big attraction most of you have towards motorhomes. I thought having a truck and camper was the best combo. Now that I have a motorhome, I totally understand this connection. When we travel, it's so much easier on my wife and kids, well worth the cost.
By reading the posts, I have come to understand that most motorhomes have problems. This has prepared me to handle the ones that have popped up on my coach, all of them minor.
My break-in trip in the new rig was to Lake Havasu about 300 miles one way. After the first leg of the trip was over, I felt like a whipped pup. The rig had plenty of power but wandered everywhere. When I got home, I read DriVer's after-market modifications. Well, I ordered everything, Bilstiens, Hendersons rear trac bar, Davis true trac bar and the Safe-T-Plus and installed them myself. The only problem I had was getting the nuts off the shock bolts. Dang near killed me. The coach now tracks like it's on rails, what a pleasure to drive. Thanks, DriVer. I used your post to walk me through the installs.
I think the mods made a great chassis even better. I have since joined the FMCA and the WCMC. I would like to thank you all for the great info and ideas. You have made my first coach purchase a pleasure. I hope to see you down the road, Always "BE SAFE."

I'd like to also welcome you to iRV2.com and since you are already a member of WCMC, please watch for an announcement about the next rally (maybe Oct. 05) at the Texas Motor Speedway! It is only a short drive for you , and I'll bet you will enjoy the journey in that finely tuned Workhorse! ED
