After now knowing about Workhorse's unsafe brake problems and they way continue to not fix the problem and knowing how much other Workhorse owners have spent out of their own pocket on this problem because it wasn't resolved during the warranty period, does this give you a negative impression about Workhorse?
Would you buy another RV on a Workhorse???

Very negative. No way I would ever buy another WH product. It's a real shame too. The chassis is sturdy. The engine / tranny combo really works well together. It handels like a dream. It rides better than a lot of cars I've driven. It's a good package. Except the little issue of the brakes and how it is being dealt with.

As a past Workhorse owner (W-20) I was taken care of by WCC very well. I did have a brake problem with the old Bosch system which was taken care of no problem.

I agree 100%, it's a sturdy product, but the issues like brakes and instrument panels problems have been going on for years and it seems they just want to get you out of warranty so it is no longer their problem.
I am looking to buy again and since they still haven't resolved these problems I'm going with Ford.
It's really a shame.

I don't share your opinion. I would buy again, no problem as long as the gas engine is in the rear.

One of the things many don't know about warranties
If you are one of the lucky ones who has brake issues, and they are fixed under warranty, and fixed again still under warranty, and then the warranty expires and they need fixing again,
CHECK YOUR RIGHTS, which of course vary from state to state. I stress these vary from state to state. A warranty specialist (lawyer) can explain your rights to you... Since they vary from state to state, I can not.

I have to agree. I will be looking at other chassis when I buy. I like the chassis in general but I like being able to stop when I press the brakes to.

Well, we decided to go Workhorse (we are on our 2nd one) after continually replacing rotors, calipers and pads on our Ford! We are at 25K and so far so good.
Nothing as scary as getting down to the end of the road at Cottonwood Cove and having the pedal go to the floor...even after the first replacement with all the mumbo jumbo about phenolic pistons and Dot 4 fluid etc.

If you rule out Workhorse then you rule out the UFO chassis. It has the best ride and best brakes on any gas Coach that I have driven.

Never again. They used to be the recommended gas chassis builder, but with all the bad press they are now the worst!

Workhorse Chassis has garnered such bad press that even our local Craigslist sellers have stopped using it in their listings and only noting the 8.1L engine with the Allison transmission.

Actually those of you trying to turn this back into another brake thread, Workhorse has had no problems since 2005.
I'll buy another one!
(Oops, how did that Ford brake problem get in here)
Best,

I've had some problems with my WH early on and I would definitely buy another. I've had a ford before also.
