Hi I have a 2001 daybreak with a 8.1 Vortec based in the UK, broke down at the weekend when the reduced power warning light cane on as well as the service soon and check gauges light, had it towed in to a recovery garage they read the codes all that came up was P1220 referring to the throttle sensor we have replaced it with a known good one and cleared the codes but it still has the warning light and will still not rev and the code comes back, RV is now some 250 miles away, any ideas where to start looking, its a bank holiday in the UK so very little help until Tuesday and that is also limited.

Delbert--

First let me get your VIN number.

Second, send me your e-mail address so I can get you some diagnostic procedures for that DTC.

Third, Did you have the throttle position sensor on the throttle body or on the throttle pedal assembly changed?

We'd be more than happy to assist you in getting your coach back on the road!

Hi

RV has now been recovered to a dealer near Birmingham UK, I have advised them of your advice regarding the throttle position sensor on the throttle body, problem is finding parts apparently they will have to be ordered from the US, I will let you know how we get on

Derek,

Make sure they go through the proper diagnostic steps in order to determine if it is that sensor for sure. I'd hate to see you spend all the time and money on shipping a part from the US that does not fix your problem. For all we know it could be a pinched wire or some odd-ball issue that is not going to be corrected no matter how many new parts you throw at it.
