drgigene, Congratulations on the purchase of your new motorhome and a BIG welcome to iRV2.com. Please come back and visit us frequently.
Is this a brand new rig? If so congratulations on the purchase of your new motorhome.
I would like to know which type and model 35? Adventurer or Sightseer, then there's a P, Z, and a J and which direction are you turning the wheel and are you holding it in a lock position or just turning in a direction? I would also like to know what is the 10th digit of your VIN# which I expect is a 9.
Who told you about the noise, was it the Winnebago dealer or a Workhorse Service Center. If you have a loud thumping noise I would get this looked at by a dealer as soon as you can. There may be issues with the springs or U bolts or something could be loose. I would have hoped that before they offered you the information that the noise will go away by your first oil change that someone looked at the suspension. Personally I don't like those types of statements and it raises a red flag in my perception.
All Workhorse chassis are inspected in a separate pre-delivery inspection building on the way out of the plant. I would expect that if there was something seriously wrong that it would have been caught in the final PDI.
At the 5,000 mile mark you are going to want to change the spin on filter on your transmission. Make sure that they top off the filter with Transynd fluid and not ATF.
If you need help in locating a service center let me know and I'll find one for you.
