In case you haven't noticed by the last couple of threads I have posted, being from PA i just got my motorhome out of storage. Been inspecting it for anything for the last week. Had to put new tires, changed transmission fluid, changed brake fluid, changed coolant, oil, greased...... Had fun??!! Noticed the topper on the slide is in sad shape. How hard is it to change the fabric on the topper. Can I do this myself. I have to go over the motorhome with a fine tooth comb. Will be putting a lot of miles on this summer with my daughter showing horses. But, looks means a lot and the topper needs replaced. Any help would be appreciated Thanks!

It's not too difficult to change. I found it easiest to contact http://www.marksrv.com/ for replacement fabric. They will want the model or serial number of the awning. You must unroll the awning to find that info on the tube itself. You will need a helper.

From what I understand, Carefree of Colorado has better material but may need more info than just a model number.

Had a local awning shop order Sunbrella material that matched our window and patio awnings. He duplicated them and installed them for half the price RV Dealers etc. wanted. Price of material was $160($60 for small $100 for large) including sewing, then he charged $50 each to install.

Looks like a lot of moving parts that could give a lot of trouble at the worst time.
