Transmission issue

Would anyone know why our transmission is slipping from second to first while going uphill at 3000 rpm? Also, it seemed that the clutch was engaging and the rpm racing to 4000 while losing road speed along with severe jerking. Any advice anyone?

Most likely you have a GM 4L80/85E 4-Speed Automatic Transmission depending on your GVWR. You can obtain service from most any Authorized Workhorse Service Center which can be located here:

If your transmission is slipping, you will want to have that situation evaluated by a professional.

First thing I would do is change my fluid and filter. That is still cheaper than than one hour of labor cost at a repair facility.
