Transmission overfilled---fixed

Well thanks to all of you guys here on irv2 my problem with the “over filled trans” is fixed and I didn’t have to do a thing.

This old fart brain is just not working like it did 20 years ago. I knew to check an automatic transmission the engine should be hot and in park, but I read the dip stick that read “full cold” at the end of the stick and I took it to mean Cold=engine off.

Anyhow, the fluid is ½ way between full hot and add.

Exactly where it should be! That leaves a little room for fluid growth when it gets real hot. Glad there was nothing wrong.

Glad it was OK. I check the oil and tranny fluid the night before every trip. Unfortunately the engine is off and cold when I check it so I usually just look at the color and smell of the tranny fluid. I am usually in a hurry to get setup when we get to our destination so it never gets checked then either. Finally after 5 years, during this last trip we stopped for a lunch break and I had a chance to check it correctly. It was perfect.
