First thanks to everyone for all the info. on this forum, I know this item has been beat to death but i,m still confused about all the different mobil 1 oils. I have an o3 brave 32v on wh chassis. I have a 1 qt. Wix filter, which is the best fully synthetic mobil 1 for the 8.1 engine? WM has mobil 1 extended life 5_30, also 5_30 truck and suv oil which is for towing. Most of my trips are f rom 5000 to 6000 miles and i would like to return home before changing oil. MH has 21000 mi. and i tow a 02 Grand Cherokee. I believe original owner used amsoil. thanks for any info. I had oil change after purchase at 18000 mi. at wh ser. center, they used bulk oil, do not know what kind.

The question needs to be asked; Where do you live and do you use your MH year round?
If you are up north and are going to put your MH away for 6 months the better solution is the OE weight recommendation is for 5W-30 Mobil1 Synthetic.
If you are like me and can use your MH 365 days a year if you want to, I use a 10W-30 (Synthetic) and a NAPA 1060 Gold.
Don't use anything SUV, Extended Mileage or anything else that sounds like a marketing executive wrote the label. Get the straight stuff, it says Mobil1 Synthetic and chose the weight rating that meets your need.
Do not use anything higher that the 30W 2nd number.

I have been using the Truck/SUV Mobil 1, but I can't find any definitive statement about the differences. It all costs the same at W/M. Driver may be right about the marketing pitch; it may all be from the same spigot at the factory. Kind of like buying shampoo, with about a thousand choices at the store. Why is life so complicated?
I've been using the 5-30, change once a year with about 5-6k miles accumulated. I exercise the coach at least monthly in winter. Have been topping up about 3/4 qt. total between changes.

Driver i live in OKC go west in Dec., Jan. @ Feb. the rest of the year mh is available for use, usually shorter trips , under 10000 mi. per yr. The truck and suv and extended mileage are both mobil1 fully synthetic, the extended mileage states 15000 mi. between changes is why i was interested, the other mobil 1 did not state change intervals. thanks for response.

According to ExxonMobil, the Truck & SUV oil has an increased level of additive dosing - see HERE.
Is it worth any extra money? Dunno - buyer's choice, I guess.
I've heard the rumors about regular Mobil I going to Group 3 (SHC) base stocks while the Truck & SUV and Extended Mileage were still Group 4 (PAO) base stock like original Mobil I. I've never been able to extract a clear answer from ExxonMobil about this, nor have I found it in their literature. Of course, ever since Castrol's lawsuit against the FTC, Groups 3, 4 and 5 base stocks can all be termed "fully synthetic", so caveat emptor.

John5, I am pretty much in the same boat as you, same year, 8.1 WH chassis, and tow a Grand Cherokee. I change my oil twice a year unless I travel greater than 3k miles between my time intervals. Some say the additives in Mobile 1 don't really start breaking down until after 5k miles. However, I feel that our motorhomes are working hard pulling heavy weights, and I know that I am getting maximum protection changing at 3k miles. Mobil 1 use to be good for a full year between drains. But now they will only say that for the extended service Mobil 1. Sounds fishy to me.
Last year before I did a CA to FL and back trip, I installed a Fumoto oil drain valve, and was able to change my oil in campground with no mess or fuss and no one being the wiser. I just didn't want a 6k mile round trip on the oil.
I too use the Truck SUV blend. I have also heard that it has some additional additives in it. And what really sways me is the cost is the same for both at Wally World
