For various reasons, I have put over 5000 miles on my Holiday Rambler UFO in the last 5 weeks. The only issue with the chassis was a failure of the Hydraulic Accumulator and computer system on the braking unit which was addressed in a previous thread.
I just want Ed and Driver to know that I have thoroughly enjoyed the time behind the wheel of this great chassis. It has excellent road manners and there was little driver fatigue at the end of the day.
RV techs who have considerable experience with motorhomes, both gas and diesel have commented on how quiet this unit is when driving it.
I can only hope that Monaco will continue building on this chassis once the issue of gas and diesel engines have been resolved and they get their feet back on the ground after bankruptcy. Therefore other motorhome owners can enjoy the driving experiences I have had with the UFO. Cudos to Workhorse for stepping out on this type of unit. Don't let it die.
Regards

A UFO is a magnificent machine that has not yet been replicated. It is not a rear diesel pusher however its torque box and coil spring suspension make the properties of this machine unique and unparalleled.
I am constantly amazed every time I that I have taken 1 out for a test drive and "Believe Me," I drove it like I stole it and it handles like a BIG sport car. I have driven I believe 5 different UFO powered coaches and have taken dozen of people out for test drives.
If I was able to do so, I'd be in a UFO.

Another very happy UFO owner. We are just starting our 5000 mile summer trip and the handling continues to amaze me. 5 hours behind the wheel of my previous RV on the W24 chassis and I was through. Today is the second time in the last 2 months that I have driven the UFO for 7 hours plus and I could have kept going. I hope they can find a replacement for the 8.1 so more can be built on the W26 chassis.

After I changed the front shocks we are very happy with ours. I am waiting for someone to ask me why I am putting in gas, so I can tell them that it is a UFO chassis, and I thought UFO meant universal fuel option.

Universal Floorplan Option and Universal Footprint Option.
Those are the only 3 that I know that have been used by Marketing.

Driver- I think it would be a lot more fun using the universal fuel option. Gee I just bought it and I was putting in gas, because it costs less then diesel. It was not that low, so it should be ok.

Ah yes thinking back on my Military days with multi fuel engines! They'd burn just about anything.
