eandy, None. Main reason - no gasoline engines. Will the UFO re-emerge as a diesel pusher .. that could happen if there's any interest from the coach builders.

Didn't UFO stand for Universal Fuel Option or something to that affect? I just can't believe that after hearing how well the ride was with a ufo that the coach manufacturers don't want to build on it with the diesel engine. Which diesel would it be if they do build it? I've always heard the GM diesel is a very good engine, but I'm sure there are others that would also work well, like a Cummins maybe? I'm not familiar with the different diesels out there, the only one I've ever owned was a little 4 cylinder in a VW Rabbit, great mileage with that by the way.

From an article published in 2006:

The demo coach was built on the gas version of the UFO, the GM Vortec 8.1 Liter, which is the only power plant currently available. The diesel versions will premier next year with a Cummins ISB 6.7 Liter and an International MaxxForce 7 engine.

The engine that Workhorse would have available to use would be the Navistar MaxxForce7. This engine could produce 300HP and 660 lb/ft of torque. Current manufacture descriptions tell us; "The new dual sequential turbochargers design and high-pressure common-rail fuel system yield higher peak power for impressive acceleration, grade climbing and towing capability." This is consistent with the reports that have been coming from new owners of the new W20D and the W22D.

I recently read that Tiffen is offering a 28' diesel pusher motorhome, so they must think there is a market out there for small to mid size diesel powered motorhomes.

I should have included in my post the reason I was asking. That is, I heard recently on radio or tv that Fleetwood was starting production again, appearently the first since the downturn. I thought I remembered they were the first to use the UFO. I went to their web site before posting and found no mention of the chassis at all.

DriVer, the Allegro Breeze from Tiffin is supposed to use the Maxforce 7 engine from Navistar. I believe it is a 28 foot rear engine configuration built on thier own chassis.

eandy, Fleetwood never built a motorhome for production on a UFO chassis.

The first company to build on a deliver a UFO was Forest River on their Georgetown and Georgetown XL models.

Attached are the automotive and some mechanical specs from the Tiffin Breeze brochure:

http://www.tiffinmotorhomes.com/pdf/...reezeSpecs.pdf

The chassis is Tiffin designed & built (Powerglide). One aspect of the design is coach leveling is performed by the air suspension system, i.e., no electric or hydraulic jacks.

A model was at a recent RV show which I thought looked pretty good. One thing that does catch your attention is very limited amount of closet space. Tiffin is introducing a 32' 2-slide version which has addressed that issue (http://www.rvcruzer.com/images/32BR_Floorplan.jpg).
