The flat floor of the Workhorse UFO was made very evident to me in Louisville at the RVIA Convention this past week if only by accident.

I began my tour of the 39W Itasca Latitude UFO in a manner similar to a tourist with my head in the air with a casual glance down every so once in a while to check things out a little closer.

The front of the floorplan was refreshingly flat and beautiful in execution. I really need to take one of these motorhomes out for a ride!

Walking around the UFO and going into the bedroom I just couldn't help but look for the implementation of the flat floor with this design that featured a curb side slideout. You just do not see both a slideout and a flat floor in rear engine powered motorhomes.

Here is how the UFO looked when I saw it.

Workhorse UFO flat floor reality check

Comparing apples to apples we see the design differences between the 39W UFO and the 39W FLXC. I walked over to the FLXC Winnebago Destination and began my tour in that motorhome. Both Winnebago and Itasca units were very similar in amenities.

I proceeded through the bath room and into the bedroom and quite accidentally believe it or not something got my attention and I actually tripped over the FLXC doghouse. I'm not kidding - you try walking around with a camera pasted on your face while looking for a great shot.

FLXC doghouse in the rear of the coach

I couldn't believe it until I saw it for myself. Both floorplans and one with and the other without. My choice is flat floor every time.

Now I was told by the product planner that Winnebago Industries is working on a solution to lower the floor on the FLXC ISB equipped Latitude and Destination and I'm sure they'll make that work.

Now aside from the flat floor, Workhorse takes UFO technology to the next level with it's braking system. The UFO was tested on a track by an independent lab and it stopped a full 49 feet shorter that the brand X motorhome RDP that it was compared against. Both units were 2007 models. See the Press Release in the RV Industry News.

Well, DriVer, at least you're 'graceful'!

We've been off-line for a few days...as soon as I paid for one days' worth of wifi, DH says "check iRV2 for DriVer's update!" (Yes, he really did!)

Interesting info. Will share it with the 'Bago group (SanAntonio) we're 'hanging with' this weekend in Bastrop! We keep talking up the iRV2 website....

Now if you need any iRV2 stickers please let us know and we should be able to get some of those out to you and your group.

Oops..didn't read about the stickers. ..still have a few left. Will pass them out tonight. All will head back 'home' in the a.m.

We plan on putting one on the bulletin board in the park in San Benito when we get settled next week. We've learned too much on this stie not to share it.

If you click on the middle one, in "your" post a box will open with your message in "Edit" mode. You can correct the typo and then just save the change by clicking on the "Post Now" button.
