I have had mine for 5 or 6 years. Definitely more power and I passed CA emissions 2 years ago. I am due for test again next month.

Did it last year along with Iridium plugs and Magnum Wires. What a difference it made. I can climb hills in higher gears and when it shifts down it gains enough power to shift back to 5th or 6th much faster. Best $$ I've spent so dark. Don't know about CA emissions. Left there in 1974 and except for visits to family don't get back much anymore.

How do they test for emissions? If it is a simple OBD II test, i.e., scan the computer, than it should be fine. If they sniff than you need to discuss with Brazels. I'm sure its OK since Redlands also installs and they are in Kalifornia.

You won't have any issues with emissions testing, even in California.

I've had Ultrpower since 2005 and it's one of the best improvements I made. It gave me 50 hp and 50 lb/ft of torque that was verified on Brazel's chassis dyno. I noticed an immediate improvement in the first 15 ft. as it felt like our 3300 lb. Malibu wasn't hooked up . But the best part is the reduction in down shifting over the interstate over passes. It now goes over them so much easier.

I have had the Utra Power upgrade since 2004. Plenty of power but my mileage has always been slightly less than others I travel with.

Just ordered mine based on this thread. Hoping to have it installed before we leave out on a month long trip.

Is the installation as easy as the instructions lead you to believe?

I don't know, I had mine done at Alliance Coach in Wildwood, Fl along with numerous upgrades. But I can say the ultra power upgrade, iridium plugs and Magnum wires have made a huge improvement. I think it was money well spent. When I talked to Jon before I had this done, he told me he could send me instructions to do it myself, but since I was having some other things done he recommended Alliance. We were very happy with their work.

How much does it cost? Is it hard to install?

Side note, Autozone has a $2 per plug rebate on AC Delco iridium plugs with free pickup at your store. Look online. I think we use the 41-101 plug.
