Ah come on give me a BREAK! I put that poll together in about a minute not knowing how they have it set up. There is no way to change anything without reseting the totals. Most of you can figure it out and for the rest you.. work with it
Once this poll settles down I will find out how many were sold in total and we can figure what percentage responded as this poll only shows those that visit IRV2.
Hopefully know one is stacking the deck by voting more than once.

If gas mileage was a primary reason for spending money on this mod, has anyone figured out how long it will take for the mod to pay for it self? Not having done it yet and not knowing how much it costs I'd be very curious. I'd really like to see the numbers given how little most rv's are driven each year.

Rick, George
I have done this... and I have an Excel Spreadsheet in the downloads section of my web site that you can key in the various parms to see what the results are.
But, based on the following:
Miles driven per year - 7500
Before UltraPower MPG - 7
Cost of Gas - $2.99
.5 or 7% increase in MPG = $209.00 per year
1 or 15% increase in MPG = $417.00 per year
But, the above ASSUMES you get that increase in mileage on EVERY fill up. We all know that is not realistic. So, do your own math.

Dale,
With all due respect to the English and logic majors, the poll is still a good idea, and the results are enlightening.

I had my Ultra Power up grade 3 months after I bought my MH (Used) so I don't have anythng to compare it to but I did take a trip to Tennessee in June/July of last year and averaged only 7.4 MPG ...
I am going to go back and answer the POLL the best I can....
I do like the extra power....

Before ultra-power I averaged 7.57 MPG over 25,000 . Had ultra-power installed Jan.2007, drove 13278.3 miles, purchased 1606.2 gallons of gas, at $4,571.39 or an average of 2.846 per gallon. You do the math, not only will it pay for itself in about 2 years, but the increase in performance is worth the price of admission.
Total weight of Motorhome and Toad is 25,910 lbs.

What kind of documented HP and Torque increases are there? I'd really like to learn more about this.

What am I missing here?
According to my math you saved 33.28 Gallons of gas @ $2.846 = $94.71.

That's about 3/4 mile per gallon increase (adjusted for typo's). Very respectable.

Jerry,
I came up with a different number.
Old mpg - 13278.3/7.57 = 1754 gal
New MPG - 13278.3/8.27 = 1606 gal
The difference is 148 gal @ $2.84 = $420.

Dale,
Thanks for doing this poll. The results confirm what the folks at Brazels have been saying for some time. It's unfortunate that not everyone gets an increase in mpg. Maybe Brazels will figure out why and everyone will get the benefit in the future.
I wish you had done the poll a few days ago, it would have saved some unpleasantness between another member and myself.
Bill

This poll confirms my belief that there are a substantial amount of people that either get no mileage increase or actually lose mpg, and also that people don't buy the UP for the "mileage increase" (as shown in the poll)
Just like I have said many times in the past, it's the POWER that you buy the Ultrapower for....

I have a question about the Ultrapower....maybe Mike at Brazel's can answer this for me.
1. On some of the past versions of the Ultrapower, could the customer request a "MPG increase"
programed unit and/or a "Power increase" programed unit when they bought the UP?
Thanks in advance!
