Last winter I began to smell antifreeze on startup, and I had to add about a pint of mixture a couple of times in a six-month peroid. After seeing Drivers post about using Bar-leak, I decided to try it. It was only using in the winter as we took a 5500 mile trip up the West coast last summer and used not one drop, also I was unable to see where it was coming from. It appears to have worked, get no smell now and the level stays right on the cold line when cold. If you do this be sure and suck enough fluid out of the radiator after you warm it up. I just barely did. Sorry for the long post. Will let you know if ever have to qadd again. Richard

Thanks 007, I read this forum most every day, just hardly ever post, do some on Open Roads Forum. Sure like this workhorse, have had class A gassers since '97, 2 previous Ford 460s. Never had any trouble with them, but this is like night and day difference. Richard

Did you actually LOOK for a leak before you dumped that stuff into your cooling system? At least three subscribers (DriVer and me included) have shared their experiences in this forum of similar minor coolant leaks of that sort, ALL of which came from the coolant temperature sensor (screwed into the side of the right cyl head between cyl's 2 and 4).

We found coolant dripping from heater control valve on firewall. Tightened up lines, no drips visible, but still losing coolant and smelling it as soon as we get out of coach. Will pull doghouse this weekend to look for coolant temperature sensor on head etc.
