Got a used 2004 Holiday Rambler, 8.1 gasoline. I found a couple of 3/16" vacuum hose unhooked near front of engine. Traced them out / one comes from manifold near back of engine. Other one comes from the air horn between maf sensor & carb butterfly. Lines lay together as if a sensor of some sort is missing. I am curious what is missing., Guess I will just plug them.

ka5gyo, If you run the engine, is there a vacuum draw at the open end of the hoses?

Yes there is a vacuum draw, normal draw from the manifold connected hose and very little draw from hose connected to the air horn. The plastic inlet air horn actually has a hole drilled in it with the hose stuck firmly inside.

You definitely need to find out where the hose goes or plug it off because it will affect your fuel / air ratio.

If possible - take pictures.

Ka5gyo,
I have been wanting to take a quick look at mine to see if I can help you out but we are fulltimers and are setup in a resort and my wife has all her nick-knacks up front so I can’t get the doghouse off. If I break her stuff I will be in BIG TROUBLE! Maybe someone else can help you out.

The hose from the intake should go to the vacuum can on firewall above computers.
Round black plastic.

Looks like you got the pictures put up OK!

I might be off base but it looks like there's a new line on the back of the engine and they just left the old line lying around ... wonder if that's what they did?

That may be. Still curious about the tap between the air filter and carb butterfly.I just thought , I don't remember seeing the PCV valve. Gotta go do some more looking.

That's because there isn't one.

Looks like previous owner had some sort of add on installed like maybe a water injection system. The water tank may have been mounted up front and the injector installed in the throttle body intake, but I don’t quite understand the other line.
I don’t think anything important is missing and I wouldn’t worry about it. But I would probably plug the hole near the throttle body intake.

I am kind of curious about the hose clamps laying in the air intake though.

Thanks DriVer, I found other post explaining about PCV. That answers the air horn port connection mistery, all I have to do is find the connection on the Valve cover. That just leaves the last hose connected to nothing on each end. I will sleep good now. I have to say this is the most informative site I have ever come across on the computer. You and others are really a great bunch. Thanks for your help.

ka5gyo: just to be clear, there is NO PVC valve, and so you should NOT find a "connection" on the valve covers. Most importantly, be sure to plug or otherwise permanately close the hole they put in your air intake tube. From you picture it appears that dirty, unfiltered, air will be sucked in there.
