Over the past weekend we had just left home, not 15 miles away when we lost our serpentine belt. Luckily I was near a highway exit and coasted into a local Chevy dealer. I discovered I really don't like driving with no power steering or brakes. Just as luckily I had a spare belt with me as the dealer had none on hand. One of the mechanics was pulled of another job and had us back on the road in about half an hour - that's the good news.

After we were set up I discovered a small light blue vacuum line? that had been torn. I presume the shredding belt ripped the line. It attaches to a small spherical type canister located on the lower left of the heater/ac unit as seen from the front of the motorhome. It wouldn't be a major problem, but I can't figure out where the other half of the hose is, or what it attaches to.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I will try to get out and get a picture to post on Friday (I will be out of town tomorrow).

Sounds like the vacuum line which goes from your dash controls to the air intake vent door. The dash control that selects MAX (recirculates inside air) or normal A/C which opens the door to allow some fresh air into system.

Thanks Ed for the reply. I'll tilt back the dash and start from that end. At least I have a place to start my trace.
