Can you tell me what you insulated the fuel lines with? I would like to do that and also attach a code scanner. We have had a fuel gauge on it before and it didn't show any problems, but it also didn't act up while it was attached.

A long time ago.....in a land far away........ we use to put wooden clothes pins on fuel lines that tended to vapor lock. The clothes pin would act like a heat sink, to dissipate the heat.

If you look on summit racing web site for fuel line insulation there are many to chose from. I used one that had a silver reflective side on it and just covered the line with it. I also got some muffler wrap and wrapped the muffler and pipe that were close to the fuel line. I never had another problem. Even on the hottest days and towing.

A workhorse fuel pump was installed. New question for everyone. I have been doing ALOT of reading trying to figure this out and have found 2 possible conclusions 1) fuel line needs to be insulated and 2) spark plugs arcing. Any comments?

From the description of the problem it's not spark plugs (or wires) arcing.

I have the same problem MOL. Totally different motor though. I have to change the fuel pump first based on my findings. Often, this fixes the problem. My understanding is that the high pressures necessary for fuel injection have pretty much eliminated "vapor lock."
I can drive for hours as long as its not 95 degrees or warmer.
I think I'll put a gauge on the fuel rail and see if I can tape it to the windshield so I can see while I'm driving.

I am trying to figure this out on my own and I am handy, but not a mechanic by any means. Just trying to get the most information that I can before I approach the situation. Do I look underneath the coach and follow the fuel lines from the gas tank to see where they get close to exhaust?

Not sure what chassis you have, but on the W22, the fuel lines are not even close to the exhaust. But that is where i would look on yours.
How much fuel pressure do you have?

The ScanguageII is a great reader, but it will not give you a fuel pressure reading. You can barrow a fuel pressure gauge at Autozone/Oriellys, it hooks up to the schrader valve on the fuel rail.

What type of gas are you using Premium? ethanol? E85, if you are using gas with ethanol try using premium with no ethanol. I had an ford escape once that would vapor lock, I had to use premium with no ethanol.

Not sure if this will help you but there is a recall on certain chevy engines for the throttle position sensor that will cause the same problems as you are describing.
Same thing happened on my 2008 6.0 and that's what ended up being the problem.
