[2004 AllegroBay on W22 Workhorse, 8.1 L gasser w/ Actia Display]

While idling in traffic waiting for street construction crew to let traffic proceed...I turned "Off" vehicle for a 15 minute period. Had been driving for 5 hours that day; last leg was approx. 1-1/2 hrs. Air temp in mid 80's.

Upon crank-up display was blank, no idiot lights & no Christmas tree effect. With blank console; I had to guess at shift position to find "Drive". Drivability was possible, albeit only a paltry 3-5 MPH. Nothing more from the power-plant. Speedo had no reading either [0 mph]. Embarrassing; was creeping forward for a half-mile till a pull-off and traffic backing up behind me. Found a spot, stopped, started fine after a 10 min. wait period. Display back as normal. "Check engine symbol" lit for 6 miles before disappearing. OBD check revealed no error codes whatsoever. Search of forum posts doesn't match my dilemma.

Had replaced Actia 2 yrs ago with newer, orange display [former had suffered pixel drop-out]. Should not be ready for a re-flash of firmware. Any thoughts on what's going on? Did the CPU have a brain fart? I'd hate to experience that again; but no OBD code revealed. Wire harness OK, battery cables good. Could I have overheated the CPU by turning engine "Off" ?

Any others out there see a similar "black-out and return" of their IP (instrument panel)?

Now I'm stumped.

It could be as simple as a corroded fuse leg or the fuse itself may not be properly socketed in the holder.

Thanks for the input. In looking at the fuse block...could not positively find the IP fuse. None are labeled as such [for the instrumentation]. Several are labeled for signal lights, etc.. [pulled several...but I'm shooting-in-the-dark.

My fuse chart has the same abbreviations as found on the fuse array. Helpful, but not specific enough. Under-the-hood fuse block had none that looked promising either.

Any workhorse knowledgeable have an idea where to spot the correct fuse w/o pulling them all?

Replace the INST-BAT 5A fuse, #21 and OR check it.
