How can I identify my chassis year by the VIN number? Can you do this somewhere on a Workhorse site? Reason I ask is I'm considering the Koni FSD shocks. I see that between a 2003 and 2004 chassis year they offer two different model #'s shocks for front and back. I just want to be sure of the year chassis I really have. My coach was sold as a 04 but might it not be on a 03 chassis depending when it was built? Want to make sure I order the right shocks.

Steve
In my workhorse chassis guide digit 10 in the VIN is the model year. If the 10th digit is a 3 it is a 2003, if it is a 4 then it is a 2004.

On a related note, can you determine the chassis model...W22, W20, etc from the VIN? Most of the VIN Decoders don't seem to have info on much other than autos and light trucks.
Tx,

Found a decoder in the Workhorse Chassis Guide. The 6th place in the VIN indicates the model....an A=W24, a 6=W22, a 9=W20, etc....
Interesting stuff when you find it.

Chassis by VIN #
6th character gives no distinction between a W-20 vs W-22 however. Big distinction is just looking at wheel rim sizes... 22" is a W-22. Simple.

TROTH: You are correct that BOTH the W-20 and W-22 chassis are represented by the number 6 in the 6th position of the Vin. I have no idea why they thought a distinction was not necessary.
However, you are mistaken about the wheels. Because the 19.5" tires and wheels were an option for the W-22 chassis in some previous model years. Therefore, it is not quite as "simple" as we might like it to be. Sorry, not trying to be critical with this correction, but I know our members value accuracy. ED
