I have a couple of questions about replacing my fuel filter.

We have an '04 Winnebago Brave on the W-20 chassis. My first question is:

1. There are 25,000 miles on the MH. Do I need to change the filter before going on about a 9,000 mile, two month long trip?

2. Where is the filter located?

3. Is it something I can do flat on my back in the storage yard?

4. Are any special tools required?

5. Where can I buy one, what is the P/N, and about how much are they?

I apologize for the multiple questions but I don't want to start a vast project with a half vast idea...if you get my drift.

Thanks.

1. I would definately change it.I changed mine at 22k and it was showing signs (blowing thru it) of clogging up

2. On the right side (drivers) right behind the read axle on the inside rail of the frame.

3. Actually you can sit under there, it is easily accessable.

4.No, just a couple of standard size open end wrenches and a 1/2 inch socket to take the clamps on the lines loose.

5.The part # is W0004996 which is a workhorse part. Currenty there is no after market filter available. I paid $53 at a La Mesa rv dealer in Cal. Most workhorse centers want prices in the $75 range.
