I have a 2004 seabreeze Lx on a w-22 chassis, I want to start changing the oil myself. I would like to know where I can find the right oil filter for my rig.

Here is a thread on OIL FILTERS and as you can see everyone has there favorites.
I have been using the Mobil-111 and Mobil 1 Syn 5-30 WEIGHT.
Others will chime in with there preferences just do it faithfully.
You did change Trans filter at 5000 miles right.

The OE oil filter is an AC Delco PF-454. You can also use a Mobil1 M1-111 synthetic filter.

NAPA makes 2 or 3 filters for it, I use the 1060 Gold Filter made right here in South Carolina.

You can use the PF-454 number to cross reference a great number of filters from WIX, Baldwin, Amsoil and other quality filters.

Any Chevy dealer or parts house like NAPA.
The OEM one is small. Some owners opted for the larger filter. Just ask for a oil filter for an Chevy 8.1. (PF454)

I believe the AC Delco PF 1218 is the one quart. Cost is about the same as for the Napa Gold. I use the Napa filter.

Welcome to the DIY oil change club.

I prefer the NAPA Gold 1060 that is a 1 quart size. 7 quarts of 5/30 synthetic is my choice, presently using NAPA brand synthetic, it is bottled by Ashland Oil, (Valvoline), normally use Castrol full synthetic

Some like to use 10/30

You will need a 15 mm wrench for the pan bolt and be prepared to use force to get it off the first time you do it as the last person to put it on was super human

Your choice for the filter wrench, different types but I prefer the metal strap.

Want a laugh read the following Oil Filter Change From ****

When you change your Trans filter make sure you retain the round magnet ring and install on new filter after cleaning it.

When you change the Allison Spin-on....

Allison says to tighten it one full turn AFTER the gasket first touches the gasket flat on the trans. I always lube the gasket prior with fresh ATF (whatever type you use) and you can mark the filter body with a Sharpie pen after flange contact and tighten the filter until the mark comes around again..one full turn. No leaks. I also stand the new filter up in the filter box (just to hold it upright) and pre-fill it with fresh ATF (once again, of whatever type you use). As 007 says: Don't forget the magnet...(edited to keep it straight)

Please do not introduce ATF such as Dextron III into your synthetic fluid filled Allison transmission.

This fluid is often elusive to find at the normal parts distribution stores such as Carquest, NAPA, Autozone or Advance. Find an Allison dealer and purchase both your filter and fluid from them. I believe that unfortunately Transynd doesn't come in Quarts.
