Hi. I'm having trouble lately getting the key out the ignition. The trouble is with both sets.

Please advise.

Thanks,

Make sure the transmission selector is firmly in PARK.

While removing the key, try gently pushing the lever further into park to see if that helps. If not it could be something in the key cylinder. My wife has a 2000 Plymouth van and about 2 years ago, she could put the key in the ignition but it would not turn. Cylinder had to be rebuilt.

Just some guesses on my part.

John

This problem has been covered before. Do a search on this forum. But the problem seams to be that the shift selector needs a little extra pressure to make sure it is in park. I have this happen every now and than.

Have not heard of any complaints about the shift pad. This has been problem with thw W-20/22 from day one. After a time you get used to putting a little extra push on the selector lever when putting in park.

I think they all do it, if you don't have the shift lever fully seated in Park. Just push the lever up a little.
