W20 ABS light on

I have W20 chassis. Brake recall accomplished last year, no problems until this past weekend. A week ago, while checking RV over before our weekend trip, I noticed that the brake fluid reservoir fluid level switch was hanging out in midair. I replaced it in it's slot in the fluid reservoir, and went back to what I was doing. Upon strating out this weekend, the ABS light was lit. When we returned home I pulled all four wheel sensors and cleaned them. Also cleaned the tone rings on the fron wheels. ABS light still on.I found out that you have to drive it to clear any faults, which I have not done yet. Then I remembered the level swith so I also did a search this morning at work for " brake fluid level sensor workhorse w20" and found a service bulletin entitled "Code 86 set after completion of campaign 51101-C. I will follow the instructions of the bulletin and hope it solves the problem. Check it out. It might help you, too.

The master cylinder has a pin in between the reservoirs that tends to freeze up. When it does, the sensor trips the ABS light. When you replaced the sensor into the master cylinder, the light came on. Remove the sensor, the light will go out. Newer versions of the master cylinder do not have this pin.

Leave the sensor hanging out. No loss of brakes, no issues. I paid to have mine sensor fixed (it was broken off) before I found out about this issue. Of course, now the sensor is hanging down doing nothing, so it was a waste of money.
