W20 Chassis Differential Capacity

My book calls for Synthetic Rear Axel SAE 75W-90GL-5 Gear Oil.

I cannot find the total quart capacity.

Has someone got that number handy?

Thanks

according to the 2009 WCC Chassis GUIDE, the Dana S110 and S130 rear axles all use 16 PINTS of fluid, regardless of ring gear size/ratio. Somehow, this does not seem right to me-I thought that big ole thing would hold gallons of gear oil-but the book says PINTS. Maybe that is a good thing, 'cause last time I bought any synthetic gear lube it was more than $10.00 per QUART.

I just changed oil in my 2002 Monaco Windsor with an Eaton axle. As a reference I had to used 3 gallons, I bought 13 quarts so I would have a spare quart.

If it is convenient, I would use a 5 gallon bucket calibrated (marked) on the side and dump the oil to measure then go buy the correct amount. I let mine drain for a while to get all the old oil out.

The drain plug should be magnetic. Make sure you clean it. It is normal to have small magnetic particles on it. If you find metal chunks, you need to do further investigation.

Let us know for sure how much you actually needed. I am getting ready to do my W20 Dana S135 axle soon.
